The Clinton Institute offers graduate programmes – Diploma, MAs and PhD – that introduce students to advanced study of the United States and its global relations.
“Deciding to go back to further study and enrolling in The Clinton Institute has been a fantastic experience for me. Having come from a background working in media and current affairs I have always been fascinated by the world of international relations. The Media and International Conflict Masters was a perfect choice encompassing a wide range of topics from media involvement in Middle East Affairs and Northern Ireland to American Contemporary Politics with some Public Diplomacy thrown in along the way! I feel I have learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of the seminars where our group of international and local students were always encouraged and led in lively discussions. I have met so many interesting people and feel privileged to have continued my education with the talented team in the Institute”
Anne McRedmond Curley MA Media & International Conflict 2013/2014
The programmes afford opportunities to study the US across a range of disciplines – including history, literature, media and visual studies, politics and international relations – and to develop skills in analysis, critical thinking and primary research techniques. The programmes offer students a considerable degree of flexibility to map a course of study based upon their interests. They can select modules from a number of Schools as well as from the Institute, and work with core and affiliate faculty (including visiting scholars) in developing their theses.
Our graduate students are an essential and valued element of the Institute’s research culture; we encourage student participation in research projects, conferences and seminars and through the publication of scholarly work.
“The UCD Clinton Institute provided me with a way to creatively examine the United States and its participation in world history, politics, economics, globalization and culture”
