Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow

Temmuz S. Gürbüz

Temmuz is an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Clinton Institute for American Studies at UCD, working on their monograph Judith Butler and Film (forthcoming from Bloomsbury Academic). They received their PhD in Film Studies (2021) from University of Galway where they taught various topics in film and screen media. They also hold a BSc in Computer Science and worked as a computer developer as well as a lecturer and tutor in digital technologies on both UG and PG levels. Their work spans a variety of cultural productions and creative environments, including subcultures, film, documentary, experimental video, music and digital media.

Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow

S. Jonathon O’Donnell

S. Jonathon O’Donnell is an IRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Clinton Institute for American Studies, where he are researching intersections between evangelical demonology and the cultural politics of dehumanisation in the Trump era.

His broader research interests include religion and politics, critical theory, and the study of systems of discrimination, notably antiblackness, queer- and transphobia, Islamophobia, and antisemitism. His work has been published in the journals Ethnic and Racial Studies, Patterns of Prejudice, Religion & Gender, Political Theology, and Zygon, as well as in several edited collections. His first monograph, entitled Passing Orders: Demonology and Sovereignty in American Spiritual Warfare, will be published in Fall 2020 by Fordham University Press. Jonathon is currently a Visiting Scholar at Queen’s University Belfast.

Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Dolores Resano

Dolores Resano is an IRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Clinton Institute for American Studies, where she is researching on American literary fiction in the era of Trump, with a special interest in the intersections of literature, politics and public discourse.

Her broader research interests include 21st-century literature, humor studies, crime fiction, and gender studies, having recently co-edited the volume Papeles del crimen. Mujeres y violencia en la ficción criminal. She serves on the editorial boards of the journals Lectora. Journal of Women & Textuality and 452ºF. Journal of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature. In 2023 Lola took up a lectureship at Complutense University of Madrid.
